THE HONOR OF A FATHER

Father's Day is a holiday that celebrates fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. Since the Middle Ages, the 19th of March has been observed as Saint Joseph's Day in Catholic countries throughout Europe. Sonora Smart Dodd founded Father's Day in the United States,[1][2][3] and it was first observed on the third Sunday of June in 1910. The day is observed on various dates around the world, and each region has its own traditions for honoring fatherhood.
Father's Day is a recognized public holiday in Lithuania and parts of Spain, and it was until 1977 in Italy. It is a national holiday in Estonia, Samoa, and South Korea, where it is known as Parents' Day. Similar celebrations honoring family members, such as Mother's Day, Siblings Day, and Grandparents' Day, complement the holiday.
