Illustration by:  https://krishijagran.com/blog/world-environment-day-ecosystem-restoration-is-the-key-to-revive-our-degraded-planet/   Is defined as "a process of reversing the degradation of ecosystems, such as landscapes, lakes, and oceans, in order to regain their ecological functionality; in other words, to improve ecosystem productivity and capacity to meet societal needs." This can be accomplished by allowing overexploited ecosystems to regenerate naturally or by planting trees and other plants."   The goal of ecosystem restoration is to contribute to the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity while also creating social, economic, and environmental benefits, with healthy and connected ecosystems helping to improve food and water security, people's livelihoods, and mitigating and adapting to climate change" (CBD, 2019). Consideration of ecosystems as socio-ecological areas that provide multiple functions that benefit a wide range of stakeholders ...

illustration by https://www.indiatvnews.com/lifestyle/books-culture-father-s-day-2021-why-do-we-celebrate-it-know-history-and-significance-of-the-day-712835   Father's Day is a holiday that celebrates fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. Since the Middle Ages, the 19th of March has been observed as Saint Joseph's Day in Catholic countries throughout Europe. Sonora Smart Dodd founded Father's Day in the United States,[1][2][3] and it was first observed on the third Sunday of June in 1910. The day is observed on various dates around the world, and each region has its own traditions for honoring fatherhood.   Father's Day is a recognized public holiday in Lithuania and parts of Spain, and it was until 1977 in Italy. It is a national holiday in Estonia, Samoa, and South Korea, where it is known as Parents' Day. Similar celebrations honoring family members, such as Mother's Day, Siblings Day, and Grandparents' Day, complement the h...

INDEPENDENCE OR DEATH, IF WE GET NO REVOLUTION THEN WE WANT NOTHING, WE WOULD RATHER DIE THAN GIVE IN TO YOU

illustration by: https://www.asianjournal.com/tag/philippine-independence-day/   The Philippines was a Spanish colony for over 300 years and is named after King Philip II of Spain. Ferdinand Magellan landed on the Philippines islands in 1521 and claimed them for Spain. Magellan demanded that all local chiefs submit to Spanish rule, but one of them, Lapu Lapu , refused. Magellan attempted to crush Lapu Lapu , but failed and was killed.   The Spaniards finally gained a foothold in the Philippines when Miguel Lopez de Legazpi led an expedition in 1565. In 1571, they built Intramuros, which was later renamed Manila and became the country's capital. Eventually, Spanish rule took over, and a feudal system was established, with the Spanish owning large estates and Filipinos working for them. The Spanish years were prosperous for the Philippines, and their rule was uneventful. When the British captured Manila in 1762, this all changed. Under the terms of the Treaty of Paris, sign...

A DAILY OCCURRENCE

Image
Illustration by:  https://www.history.com/topics/holidays/mothers-day   Mother's Day is a day dedicated to our dear mothers, a day when we can express our gratitude for everything they've done for us.   Despite the fact that Mother's Day is a day to thank our mothers, it has now become a day for businesses to profit from, just like any other special holy day. Mother's Day, in my opinion, is unnecessary. Mother's Day has become less of a day of appreciation and more of a day of "making money," which is completely wrong in more ways than one. Mother's Day, in my opinion, should not have been a thought, because appreciating our mothers should be a daily occurrence. Creating a day to honor our mothers created numerous opportunities for businesses.

The Save Vigan Ancestral Homes Association, Inc. (SVAHAI) formed it in 1993 to raise awareness of the historic town's importance in order to increase commitment to conserve and safeguard it. The arts festival has been effective in drawing attention to Vigan's ancestral houses for the past sixteen years. The festival has also succeeded in promoting other parts of Vigan with the cooperation of national and municipal agencies, as well as media, arts, and non-governmental supporters. Its fame has benefitted the whole tourism business in the northern area, attracting tens of thousands of interested local and international visitors to travel to the north and enjoy a "northern experience"   Calesa and Ramada décor competitions were also held, as well as a demonstration of Vi...
